Consultations
Better swimmers are faster swimmers.
Developing race winning skills is a critical component of improving performance in the pool over time.
However, it’s not easy.
There’s a lot of conflicting information about which skills are important
There’s a lot of conflicting information about how to address these skills.
Even worse, there’s almost no guidance available as to how you can effectively implement skill development into your workouts.
And still train hard.
Developing skills through traditional, instruction-based approaches isn’t the answer.
You can only interact with so many swimmers.
Instruction isn’t always effective
Swimmers don’t always listen or remain engaged.
The larger the group, the more challenging it becomes.
Fortunately, there’s another solution.
By developing skills through effective task design, skills can be improved in every swimmer, faster and more effectively, all while continuing to train hard.
You don’t have to spend the entire practiee teaching or constantly reminding swimmers to focus and pay attention.
All that’s necessary is a different framework for developing skills.
And a different approach to making it happen
You can get much of the information from my Book or Stroke Fundamentals, but you’ll have to figure out how to make it happen by yourself.
Or you can fast-track your coaching skill and your swimmers’ progress by working directly with me.
Specific to your situation and your needs, you’ll learn how to:
-
Identify the key skills your swimmers need to improve to get faster
-
Select the most effective strategies for developing these key skills
-
Progressively challenge these skills to ensure continued progress
-
Implement these strategies into workouts specifically designed to improve skills while building the necessary fitness
-
Optimize skill development over a training week, a season, and a career
Most importantly, you’ll learn how to incorporate all these strategies into what you’re already doing.
And you’ll get direct feedback and directing coaching as to how to make it all happen.
Rather than changing what you do, the goal is to make what you do more effective.
